The Kellyn Llantrisant Lifestyle Medicine Program - Summer 2023

A FOOD AS MEDICINE EXPERIENCE

​We are excited to announce a fabulous healthy lifestyle program starting June 29, 2023 in Tatamy, PA.   

If you are concerned about pre-diabetes, Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and/or heart disease, this “food as medicine” program may be what you are looking for.

Lifestyle change is not easy, but the understanding support from the experts at Kellyn will help you every step of the way. 

The Kellyn Lifestyle Medicine Program for staff is focused on optimizing the habits that lead to both a long lifespan and a long health span.  It is not a diet or a fad.  It is a supportive program that assists in shifting habits while also stimulating discussion and building relationships that help to maintain the healthy habits for the long term.

This program is open enrollment, but is limited to thirty (30) households.  The program has an intensive initial three months with weekly sessions.  The following three months will include two to three sessions followed by the last six months of quarterly meetings.  The cost of the year long program is $1,050.  A $200 deposit is required prior to the first session and an automatic $85 per month for ten months fee will also be collected.  Participants can prepay $1,000 in lieu of the extended terms.  
Registrations will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.

An introductory overview meeting for all interested participants is scheduled for Thursday, June 22, from 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM at Llantrisant Retreat & Wellness Center. A delicious dinner will be provided for all participants, up to a maximum of 60 attendees. 

The introductory session on June 22 will also be the last night to register for the Lifestyle Medicine program, if there are seats still available.

    Registration for Introductory Dinner & Movie

    ​This overview session is scheduled for Thursday, June 22, 2023, from 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM at the Llantrisant Retreat & Wellness Center in Tatamy, PA.  A delicious dinner will be provided for all attendees.  The excellent 48-minute movie titled “PlantWise” will be viewed.

The Kellyn Llantrisant Lifestyle Medicine Program Schedule

The in-person sessions will be held at Llantrisant Retreat & Wellness Center located at 336 Bushkill Street, Tatamy, PA 18085 starting promptly at 5:30 PM and ending at 7:30 PM.   Doors will be open at 5:30 PM to begin enjoying your friends and the wonderful food.
Virtual Sessions will be held from 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM via Zoom.
We do realize that you may not be able to make every session, but we ask that you try to attend a minimum of 80% of the sessions.

Post Six-Month Response
"I’m happy to report that we are doing well. I personally have really invested in many of the changes and new lifestyle, though not without its ups and downs. I have us observing at least 2 meatless days per week and we continue to avoid the processed foods and junk for the most part. For some reason chocolate keeps finding its way into my house! Holidays so far have been successful with incorporating healthier versions of our foods. Still haven’t figured out how to avoid or substitute butter in the traditional holiday recipes (kiffles, stollen and poppyseed roll), but I’m cutting the calories and making other subs where I can. I have lost another 10 lbs and am working toward my goal of another 20 by next July.  Some amazing progress with our son as well. He tried beets for the first-time and I got a “they’re not bad”. So, that is promising. He even asked me for spinach in his scrambled eggs one day. Can’t wait until we can all have a reunion again."
